| | Indoor soccer shoes | | Does anyone know a good pair of indoor soccer shoes?
I've tried sambas but they just don't seem to fit me well enough. Also, does anyone know which ones the pros use? They look like Nike Vapors (indoor) but I can't tell for sure.
Anyone with suggestions?Thanks

| What do you say when kids start cussing up a storm? | | While hanging out with my sister at an indoor soccer game watching my dad play, we witnessed one of the most awful act known to man kind. All the players children were sitting with us on the bleachers and every time there was something excited going on on the field the kids began to scream obscenities. When I say kids, I mean kids, like no older than eight years old just shouting "Fu-- this, Fu-- that!" "Oh sh--, oh sh--." While in their excitement, one looked over to where I was sitting. I just gave him a straight face and shook it "no" a couple of times. Shame overcame him for about a split second and then it was gone. He and the others continued. Then out team scored a goal. The children began to cheer. a couple of them stood on the bleachers and began to stomp on them. One of the kids next to me began to do it as well. I turned around and said, "knock it off. go bang and yell somewhere else." I had said it loud enough for all of them to hear me. Most of them walked off whispering death wishes for me under their breath.
Really I could care less about what these kids were doing, because I know that most of it is not their fault. The ones to blame here are the parents. How can...
| | Writing Challenge | | I am a member of a writing group which meets every other Sunday. Last Sunday was more fun than usual. We were having lots of laughs. My first prompt - The two officers wanted to know the whereabouts of her son - left some people disappointed because I was so serious. It ended with a dead kid.[em]lol[/em]I had to leave early because my girls are in the playoffs in indoor soccer but I promised I would take one of the other prompts given and try to make it funny. I started with a story, wrote about two lines and got stuck. So I decided to write a poem. Here it is:http://www.authspot.com/Poetry/Something-Lost-is-Found.618825 I read it to some of my buddies who met yesterday. They thought it was funny, especially the end. What do you think?Have you ever been challenged to write something that you didn't think was in you? And I don't mean writing an article for pay; something just for fun. Could you do it? | |

| | I was blown away yesterday. | | Yesterday was basketball sign ups for our community recreation department. I went down and signed up my 3 older kids. The recreation director was there doing the sign ups. When I handed him my children's forms he asked me if my oldest was currently playing soccer. I said yes, and he began talking about some indoor soccer league starting up. I assumed he wanted me to sign up for it, but then he said the league was for 7th and 8th graders, and is being coached by the high school varsity soccer coach. So I told him my son was only a 6th grader. He said "Yes, I know, but the coaches called me and told me they want him to play in this league" WHAT??? I mean this is huge. They think my son is so good, they want him to play on a league with kids who are 1-2 years older than him. They don't often take 6th graders, as I said, the league is for 7th and 8th graders only. I just think this is such an honor that they think my son is good enough to play with these kids. And of course it would be a huge benefit to him if he got on the team. It would really hone in on his skills, and probably teach him a whole lot more about soccer that he hasn't been learning in the recreational... | |
| | A little bit of bragging on my part | | Tuesday nights are my indoor soccer league nights and last night was a little special for me. It was my first hat-trick (3 goals for those who don't know). It was a losing effort but still pretty exciting. I've score 2 a bunch of times but have never been able to get over that hump till last night....Yay me!!

| Not my greatest night ever!! | | I had my usuall Tuesday night indoor soccer game this week and it didn't go well at all. It was a very rough game with the other team kicking, pulling, and pinching the entire time and the referee seeing none of it....well, I ended up losing my temper and was stomping around screaming and cursing like a tourettes afflicted amateur sports director. It was really an embarassing scene and I had to apologize to everyone at the end...do any of you play sports and have you ever lost it like that during a game? | |
